Let's Begin At The Beginning...

hello

Hello and welcome from sunny Connecticut! Blue skies and sunshine always fills me full of hope and happiness knowing my day can be filled with endless possibilities. But how did I get to launch my own company? So let's take a Time Machine back to see where it all began.

One spring day in 1997 I woke up knowing I needed to go to university to study to be a social worker. Of course I thought up every excuse under the sun as to why it was impractical for me to go but a few days later I sent a letter to two universities (not the usual route of applying to uni!) outlining who I was, my experience, what course I wanted to do and why they were a good fit for me. One university responded, offered me an interview and then offered me a spot on the course which started a month later. After qualifying in 2000 I was lucky enough to get my dream job of working with Adolescents, which I absolutely loved. About six month into this job I was asked to go and cover the intake, assessment and duty desk as they were short staffed. I was reluctant to go but went on the promise that I could return once the vacancy had been filled. However, I found my niche and fell in love with my frontline social work role and never returned to my other job.

In 2013 we moved overseas and as we have moved around the world I tried to find roles that allowed me to fulfill my passion of working with children and their families - not very successfully I might add. In the last year I have come to realize that the only person who can help me fulfill my passion is me! I started to think a bit more laterally about how I could achieve this and by chance I met a person who was a parent coach. This caught my attention and this person kindly met me for coffee and talked about what they did. I was hooked and from there the Parenting Knot was born. So if you want to find your passion or new ways of parenting please reach out to me and let's see where it takes us!
